Drugstore Complexion Favorites under $13 : Loreal, Nyx, L.A Girl and More

By Trecee Hutchinson - 2:17:00 PM

As much as I love high end makeup, I tend to be very practical about my everyday makeup.

The makeup I wear to work is almost exclusively drug store. A lot of people also think that in order to have a flawless base, you must use high end products, but I am here to say that is just not true. Some of my favorite base products are from drugstore and sometimes there isn't really a correlation between price and quality. You can definitely find amazing products for reasonable prices.

Anyway, on to the list...

L.A Girl Pro Conceal Concealer - Orange Corrector $2.99

This is the best corrector I have tried. First, its important to know that orange correctors will cancel out any darkness on the face. I use this product to cancel out the darkness around my mouth and any other hyper pigmentation I might have. I find the La Girl Corrector to be super pigmented, but not pigmented to the point where it won't blend out well and doesn't blend into the skin. This is my go to for under any foundation, because once it sets it does exactly what it claims to do. The best part is that I can get these for $2.49 locally. There is also a full range of correctors including yellow, green, purple and even a white.

L.A Girl Pro Conceal Concealer in Chestnut $2.99

I also love the L.A girl range for their extensive range of traditional concealers. These concealers have beautiful, build able coverage and they blend out well. This concealer will cover your blemishes, but not look cakey at all. I own a few colors, but Chestnut is my favorite for everyday because its the perfect match for my skin. I also keep this in my on the go makeup kit and will use it as a foundation if I don't have anything else available. This blends out well with a dense brush in my opinion, but I also like to let it sit on my face for a bit and then blend in with a damp beauty blender.

Nyx Cosmetics Sculpt and Highlight Face Duo $11.99

This product is a newer find of mine although I'm pretty sure it's been out at least a year now. This little duo is a liquid concealer paired with a liquid contour shade. My favorite thing about this product is its so easy to use and blends out really well. I often don't bother with cream contour because I feel like I can never get it to blend out properly, but this makes placement easy with the wand applicator and the formula is also easy to blend. It has a light weight texture and the shade I use (Honey/Espresso) is a perfect match! I definitely recommend trying these out if you want to experiment with liquid contour and want something easy to use and affordable.

L'oreal Infallible Pro Matte 24HR Foundation $12.99

I absolutely love this foundation! It's has everything that you want in a medium coverage matte foundation! Great coverage, lasts all day, and makes the skin look flawless. I also love this because it applies and blends out really easily. Its also not too matte and very comfortable for everyday wear. I wear this daily to work and it even lasts through my workouts!

L'oreal True Match Super Blendable Foundation $9.99

L'oreal foundations and my skin are clearly best friends because I love this cult favorite foundation too! In my opinion, this foundation is light to medium in coverage, but I love to wear this on the weekends during the warmer months. It has a natural dewy finish, but can of course be mattified with powder. I wouldn't really recommend this to anyone who needs a matte foundation though, this is definitely not that. I definitely have to blot when I wear this foundation, but it still has a really nice finish. My favorite way to apply this is with a damp beauty blender and set with translucent powder for a flawless spring look!

Ruby Kisses Mineral Powder $4.74

If you are in the market for a new contour powder that's under 5 bucks, I definitely recommend this one. Ruby Kisses is a lesser known brand and typically found in small beauty supplies stores, but some you can also find this at some Walmart's and of course online. I love that this powder is talc free, hypoallergenic and does not clog pores. This is my go to for a natural contour because it blends in with foundation really well and sits on cream contour product really good too! Whenever I can, I prefer to use a face powder for my contour because the colors tend to match my skin undertones a bit better than a cool contour.

Nyx Cosmetics Eyeshadow Base - Skin tone Finish $6.99

Last but not least is the Nyx Eyeshadow base in the skin tone finish. I love this because its an amazing base for the eyes and does a good job at cancelling out discolored lids. This base allows my eye shadow to not only last long, but also makes the pigment more vivid and brighter than a transparent base.  This is an amazing value for the price. The white one is also great for making bright colors pop, but the one that is on current rotation in my collection is the skin tone.
