Fall Makeup Essentials: 9 Products to Transition from Summer to Fall

By Trecee Hutchinson - 10:11:00 PM

Summer is almost over and although I'm kind of sad that the weather is much cooler, I'm looking forward to breaking out my favorite sweaters and eating comfort food. It's also my first fall in Baltimore, so I'm excited to actually get to see all 4 seasons!

Just because the seasons are changing, doesn't mean you need switch out all of your favorite products just yet. Keep reading, for some of my favorite products that will be transitioning to Fall right along with the weather

Sephora Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer

When I don't feel like wearing foundation, I usually opt for a skin toned concealer on all of the areas I feel like need a little coverage. The Sephora Bright Future Serum Concealer actually gives me really good coverage and feels weightless on my skin. It literally feels like I have nothing on my face and is perfect paired with a little powder for light coverage. I will typically apply this in the center of my face to cover up any darkness and apply a light powder like the Mac Mineralized Skin Finish over it for the perfect finish. It's also really affordable at $14 . If you haven't tried it, run to Sephora now and pick up a shade or two!

Black Radiance Perfect Tone Matte Lip Cream

These Liquid lipsticks are 4 bucks and have been my saving grace the past couple of months . Whether applied alone or with liner, these lipsticks will last through drinking and eating. The colors are also really vibrant and quite frankly gorgeous on any skin tone. The formula is really  thin, which is a preference for me. Also, they are only $4.00. For how good they are, you literally cannot beat that. you can get them on the Black Radiance website here.

Laneige Water Bank Cream

I actually received this Cream from Influenster at the beginning of the Summer and literally went through the whole jar in a span of 2 months. This is my second one! Yes, I loved it so much that I had to go snag a second jar. It makes my ultra dry skin feel hydrated and supple. The cream is really thick, but doesn't leave my skin feeling oily at all. This has also helped with the texture issues that I had been having with my skin. It will keep your skin silky smooth without a lot of fuss and is perfect for day and night wear. It's worth the $35 price tag for sure! You can get it at Sephora here.

Juvia's Place Nubian 2 Eyeshadow Palette

This palette has been an essential travel AND every day palette for me lately. The shades are gorgeous and this palette is so versatile. The shimmers in this palette are neutral enough for every day and the jewel tones give definite fall vibes. My favorite shades in this palette are hands down Egypt (deep hunter green shimmer) and Morrocco (matte bright orange). The pigmentation of every single shade is top notch and they blend so well. This palette retails for $28 on the Juvia's Place website, but you get 12 large eyeshadow pans that are packed with pigment.

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Longwear Foundation

When I do wear foundation, I have been rocking my long time holy grail Teint Idole 24hr foundation. It's matte, full coverage without being cakey and stays in place all day. I have a habit of touching my face, but with the Teint Idole, my foundation stays in place the whole day. I used to save my expensive foundations for only special occasions, but the finish of this is too good not to rock every day. Now, at $47, this is on the pricey side, but soooo worth it. If you're in the market for a luxury foundation, this is definitely the one should try out. You can get it here.

Juvia's Place Saharan Blush Palette Vol. 2

If you can't tell, I absolutely love almost everything that Juvia's Place releases. This palette has been the only blush I've been wearing all summer and will continue to wear throughout the fall. The colors are perfect for all seasons and the shades can suit both medium and deeper skin skin tones. I don't think my super fair beauties will get a lot of use out of this one because TBH, the colors are still on the deeper side.

My favorite shade in the palette is Sola. It's a deep berry with gold shimmer and looks so good on the cheeks. If you love blushes with sheen then you need this palette. I also love Bee, a mid toned berry shade.  It's perfect for fall and isn't overly pigmented on my skin tone. I got mine off Hautelook, but they are available on the Juvia's Place website here for $18.

Becca First Light Priming Filter in Refresh | Post

If you love a natural glow, this primer is a must have. I got it at the beginning of the summer, but i have a feeling it'll be sticking around throughout the fall. It not only prolongs my makeup, but has fine shimmers that brighten up the complexion without being glittery. It makes any foundation look better and gives nothing but hydrated healthy skin. I go into more detail here on this primer and a few other products from Becca. This primer can be purchased at Sephora or Ulta for $38 here.

Nyx Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powder | Post

This was go to highlighter all summer! Duochrome makeup products definitely had a moment this year and are definitely here to stay for a while. The Nyx Duo Chromatic Illuminators are highly reflective highlighting powders that will take your makeup game to the next level. A few of the shades are comparable to The Anastasia Beverly Hills Moonchild Palette. Let me just say, this product is not for the faint of heart. The colors are super bold, but still wearable in my opinion when used with a light hand. Check out some swatches here.

These retail for $7.99 and can be picked up in 5 different shades here.

Nyx  Cosmetics Liquid Suede Metallic Cream Lipstick | Post

This product is a newer addition to my makeup collection, but nevertheless, was so good to me towards the end of the summer and will be perfect to transition into fall. I have to admit, I wasn't really feeling the whole metallic lip trend until I picked up these lipsticks from local Ulta a few weeks ago. They are metallic liquid lipsticks that aren't over the top and give a gorgeous subtle sheen to the lips. This formula dries down a bit faster than the original and is transfer proof, which Is a plus for me personally. I have two shades, Modern Maven and Mauve Mist and let me tell you, these have been in rotation non stop since I got them. Give this formula a chance. I have some swatches here. You can get these liipes on the Nyx Cosmetics website or at Ulta where I got mine for $7.49.
