Nyx Professional Makeup Machinist Collection Highlighting Duos and Lip Lacquer Review + Swatches

After a few weeks of non stop wear, I am finally excited to share my thoughts on the items I picked up from new Nyx Professional Makeup Machinist Collection. This collection is steampunk inspired and features three different color stories. For each story, the collection features an eye shadow palette ($25), a highlighting palette duo ($11.99) and a complimentary Slip tease Lip Lacquer ($6.99).
I am kind of over saturated with eye shadow palettes at the moment so I passed on all three of those. I also feel like $25 is kind of expensive for a drug store palette so I just couldn't bring myself to shell out the cash. Ultimately ended up picking up 2 of the highlighting duos and 2 of the Sliptease Lip Laquers
Edit* This collection is currently half off at Ulta here! Grab this collection while its still available.
Highlighting Duos
I end up picking up Ignite and Grind because they were the most wearable in my opinion.
Ignite features a gold and a copper highlight and is perfect for deep skin. The texture of these highlighters are surprisingly amazing for the price point and had really good staying power on me. I am a frequent face toucher and this highlighter still lasted on me all day. The reflection is in these shades are bomb and if bronzy warm is you thing, then you need this highlighter. I picked mine up on sale at Ulta here.
Grind is a cool toned bronze and opal duo that is absolutely stunning on the skin. This duo is definitely the most universal of all three of the duos and the opal shade has a bit of a pink undertone that is booming on the skin. This duo has been my go to for my daily looks because it's a bit more subtle on my skin. If I want more shimmer, I apply this damp for an extra glow. The staying power on this duo is just as good as Ignite and the texture is to die for. It's super smooth and the glitter is minimal making the blend seamless.
Slip Tease Lip Lacquer
If you haven't tried the Slip Tease Lip Lacquer formula, you are really missing out. This lacquer is definitely a hidden gem in the massive Nyx range. Overall, the formula super moisturizing and stays in place for hours. It gives off maximum shine and looks so good on its own or layered over lipstick or liner. I had to have Grind (deep wine) because I have been on the hunt for the perfect deep glossy red. This color is gorgeous, but you have to be careful that it doesn't get all over because of the deepness of the color. I like to wear this with liner to ensure it doesn't end on my chin. Ignite (mauve nude) is my perfect kind of nude lip. It has a bit of pink in it, but isn't super light. I love to pair this lacquer with a brown liner for the perfect fall nude lip.
I picked mine up at Ulta at a discount, but you can also find these on the Nyx Website here.
