Must Have Beauty Products for a Girl on The Go

By Trecee Hutchinson - 1:16:00 PM

As a young professional, I am constantly on the go. I often work really late into the evening and still have to get up at the crack of dawn to get to work on time in the morning. My workday typically starts at 8:30 am, so if I want to wear makeup and get dressed I often get up at 6:15 am.

Then.....there are those days when I just cannot get out of bed early and I don't end up getting up until like 7:30 leaving me about 30 minutes to get dressed, eat breakfast and get out the door. On these days, clearly makeup doesn't happen, but if I have a meeting or some where to go after work I keep a full makeup bag on deck so I can beat my face if necessary.

Today, I want to show you some of the things that I keep in my makeup bag and why they are there!

Nyx Cosmetics Pore Perfector Primer -

Listen, primer is always a must when you want to get a polished makeup look. I keep this little travel sized primer because it small and it blurs the appearance of pores.

La Girl Pro Conceal in Chestnut and Fawn: (not pictured)

I love these concealers and they are so affordable. 2.99 for amazing coverage is perfect for an on the go kit. These are also easy to apply and blend out using a brush or sponge. I use Fawn for a more dramatic highlight and Chestnut if I'm just trying to even out and perfect my skin tone. Typically when I am on the go, I skip liquid foundation and use these all over the face and they work wonderfully for me.

Rihanna Rouge Eau du Parfum -

I typically go to the gym in the middle of the day. I always end taking a shower at the gym, so this mini perfume comes in handy after showering, since a nice scent is a non negotiable for me. The scent is really musky, yet romantic and sweet.

L'oreal True Match Powder in C8 Cocoa

I use this powder as under eye powder and all over face powder. They aren't too heavy and still provide enough coverage for a full coverage foundation look. The two different colors also provide enough contrast in shade color to

Wet n Wild Coloricon Eyeshadow Palette

When I'm on the go I don't like to carry around a lot of eye shadows because they tend to break easier in my opinion. I usually have a Wet n Wild 8 pan palette with me at all times because
1. The formula never disappoints - these are pigmented and blend able with little exception
2. They are inexpensive - at 4.99 , if these break I don't beat myself up
3. The 8 pan form makes it easy to get a complete look

NYC Liquid Liner in Black

This is my go to liner because it's so easy to apply and is blacker than black. When I'm on the go, I can pull this out and put it on in less than a minute. I also keep this in my bag for when I don't want to wear eye shadow I can just throw this on and some falsies or even just mascara and keep it pushing

Stila Huge Extreme Lash and Smashbox Photofinish Lash Primer

Both of these products complement each other perfectly. The Stila Mascara is an amazing mascara formula and combined with the Smashbox Lash fibers takes my lashes to another level of length and volume. With this combo, there is no need for falsies.

Milani Double Impact Blush in " Wine & Roses"

I love this throwback Milani Blush because it gives me two options for blush. A light warm pink or a dark plum color. I often wear a combination of the two for a mid tone pink shade. This blush is awesome for emergency becuase it also pigmented and long lasting!

Hard Candy Baked Blush in "Pin Up"

This Hard Candy blush is a good highlighter especially on the go because it gives a long wearing and not too intense sheen to the cheeks. I like to travel with inexpensive highlighter because I would absolutely lose it if I broke one of my Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecters. This highlighter is a cool toned light champagne color and is not too pigmented which makes it ideal when i just want to look polished and put together and now full glam.

Brushes:

For on the go, ELF essential brushes are ideal. They run between 1 and 2 dollars and do the job.

I use a small angled blender, a powder brush, a fluffy blender, and a random blush brush. For highlight I will typically just repurpose the blush brush.

Makeup wipes:

Last but not least, I keep a pack of makeup wipes with me at all times. I use these to clean up mistakes and they also come in handy if I find I need to take off any makeup like before the gym or for any other reason

And there you have it Folks, my on the go makeup bag! Comment below and let me know what your go to on the go products are!
