If you've been with me for awhile, then you know that Nyx Cosmetics is hands down my favorite drugstore brand! They are constantly dropping new products, which is totally clutch for my makeup habit. I also love the price point for most of their stuff and find that the quality is usually on point.

About two weeks ago, I finally spotted two new Nyx Lip products that I had wanted to try for ages in my local Ulta Beauty. I've been busy wearing them non stop and I'm finally ready to share my thoughts with you.

Slip Tease Full Color Lip Oil

So when I first saw this lipstick on the website, I was totally intrigued because of the whole lip oil trend that's been taking over the beauty community larelt. The Nyx website describes it as a rule breaking light weight lip oil that glides on silky smooth and sets to a matte finish. So a lip oil that's matte?!?! I had to try it out!

I picked my lipsticks up at Ulta beauty for $ 6.99 and its offered in 12 shades.

It also definitely lives up to its name! It's truly Full On. I also love how comfortable it feels going on. I would say that the color is fully opaque after two coats, but can be slightly streaky. The formula is light as air and almost fluffy feeling, like a mousse. It dries down matte and wears off to a soft staining effect.

In my opinion, I wouldn't describe this as anything remotely close to a lip oil. Nyx is really reaching with that description! I would say this is more of a hybrid between a lip stain and a lip cream. It has a staining effect, but still goes on like you would expect a lip cream to go on.

There is one drawback, these don't last that long to me. I applied the shade Entice in the morning before going to work and it had worn off after eating my breakfast and drinking a bottle of water. Although the lasting power isn’t the best, I don't mind reapplying because the comfort level is A+  and these are perfect for everyday soft looks.

I picked up two out of the 12 shades: Entice  (Cool Gray Plum) and Bang Bang (muted deep plum)

As you can see from the swatches, the color opacity is gorgeous even though they swatch kind of streaky. Of the two I picked up, Bang Bang is a total must have. It's a soft version of a vampy plum lip and I think it will flatter a bunch of skin tones.

Metallic Liquid Suede Lipstick

Another popular trend has been everything Metallic! More specifically metallic lips have been every where lately. I absolutely love the Nyx Liquid Suede formula, so when I saw they were now offering a metallic finish I had to try it out. For me, the Liquid Suede formula is the ultimate liquid lipstick because its super comfortable and the colors are opaque.

But back to the Metallics...

These retail for 7.49 and you get .13 oz of product. I picked up two of the shades: Mauve Mist (Warm Rose Nude) and Modern Maven (Deep Wine with Blue Brown Pearl)

Modern Maven on my Lips

I already knew I would love the formula of these because I am utterly OBSESSED with the original formula. These lipsticks are so rich and apply really good on the lips. They do differ from the original Liquid Suede formula in that it dries really fast and they set completely down. They can be worn alone or paired on top of a regular liquid lipstick, which is my personal favorite way to wear them. I like to dab a little in the center of my lip for a metallic touch to my lips.

Throughout the day, I did find that these are a bit more drying and are prone to flaking when worn all over the lips. For me, they aren't as bad if you just use them lightly over another liquid lipstick as a topper as I have been doing. If I had to compare this to another drugstore metallic lip like the Milani Amorematte formula, these win. They are less drying and a lot more comfortable for long term wear.

Overall, this one is a win for me and I will probably pick up a few more to add to my lipstick collection for the fall.

Have you tried out either one of these new formulas from Nyx? Let me know your thoughts below.
